One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

I recently started reading a new novel, for Catch-22 seemed a little bit too confusing for me. In the early readings of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", the scene begins at a mental hospital/ward. Told through the eyes of a man who is chronically ill, opinions are limited to the 1st person opinion of Chief Bromden. A stranger enters the ward, though, this stranger is different then anyone the ward has seen. He is loud, confident, and seems the least bit "crazy". Randall Patrick McMurphy's his name. I can already tell that he is going to be the stir of trouble.

"Catch-22" by Joseph Heller Chapter 1 & 2

In Chapter 1 of "Catch-22", main character Yossarian is introduced, as well as other fellow characters. The setting at first takes place in a military hospital. Militants are sent there when they are injured or ill. However, some of them are faking it because they don't want to leave. The first chapter briefly talks about a texan militant who was at the hospital. Apparently, he was very annoying to many people, so many of the militants returned back to their duties of the war. In chapter 2, Yossarian meets up with fellow tentmate, Orr. There, they discuss about what Yossarian has missed out on since his time in the hospital. Also, Orr reminisces back on a previous event with a whore. Towards the end of the chapter, Yossarian is once again fed up with the people in his surroundings, therefore, he tries to get sent back to the hospital. However, before he goes back, Lt. requires him 50 total missions, but he only has 45.
